Our French , English or Dutch & Activity programme in Flanders is a fun and engaging way for 10-17 year old to learn French, Dutch and take part in a varied, specially designed activity programme with full supervision and friendly, approachable teachers and camp counselors in a safe and secure campus environment. Perfect for a first study abroad stay for young learners.

Our students are international and diverse, giving all participants the chance to make meaningful international friendships and learn about other cultures while improving their French, Dutch, English and making the most of their holidays.

The courses: general information

• Minimum stay: 1 week

• Course duration: 50 minutes

• Class size: 12 on average

• Level test from Sunday

• Public holidays: July 21 and August 15 (the program may vary depending on these)

• Duration of activities: 2 hours per day

 

The program

Several options are available: 

• English, Dutch, French & culture: this is the most intensive formula, with 3 lessons per day mainly focused on conversation. Sports and leisure activities, evening entertainment as well as excursions to the coast and to Bruges complete the stay. This program is ideal for students wishing to expand their knowledge of the Flemish language, culture and region.

• English, Dutch, French & sport: 3 daily English lessons, supplemented by a ten-hour course in the chosen discipline, supervised by professional Flemish coaches, as well as evening entertainment.

  • English, Dutch, French & tennis: lessons are given in reputed sports clubs in the region at the "TC de Blauwe Reiger" or at the "Brughia center" the ideal opportunity to progress while practicing the language. The clubs have indoor tennis courts in inclement weather.

  • English, Dutch, French & horse riding: the equestrian center which welcomes young people, "Sanders manège"

  • English, Dutch, French & multi-sports: the multi-sports program consists of sessions of hockey, basketball, table tennis, squash, football, beach volleyball, kayaking, etc. The different sports are determined on site according to the climate and the composition of the different groups.

  • English, Dutch, French & windsurfing: the course takes place on the site of the VVW Brugge Watersportclub leisure center (in Bruges). Groups of 8 to 10 participants. All equipment is provided (windsurfing board, life jacket). Conditions of participation: hold a swimming certificate or be able to swim 100 meters.

• Combined courses: students who wish to stay several weeks while varying the pleasures can combine different programs (one week of English & culture followed by a week of English & sports, for example). You just have to specify it on the registration form.

 

Leisure & supervision

The school provides top quality language education. Classes are held in small groups and activities are always fun to allow young students a rapid acquisition of the vocabulary, comprehension and practice of the language.

Every evening, organised and coached activities are offered to the participants (films, bowling, games without frontiers, table tennis, pools, table-soccer, etc.). Younger students are coached by bilingual teachers who can also communicate with them in their mother tongue, if necessary

Discover Bruges

Bruges is a beautifully-preserved medieval trade city built over a network of narrow canals and waterways. Often referred to as "the Venice of the North", this UNESCO World Heritage site's inspiring backdrop offers the perfect environment for young learners to improve their language skills while making the most of their holidays in this idyllic location. Located about ten kilometers from the North Sea, Bruges is also a popular seaside destination with bike paths and sandy beaches.

 

The campus

Camp stays take place at "Aan de plas" Centre. It's ideally located for both lessons and sports activities, and a great starting point for exploring Bruges and the area during Easter and Summer holidays.

 

Accommodation

Students enjoy on-site residential accommodation and have lessons in the same building. They are fully supervised by trained camp counselors. 

• Boarders

  Each of the 16 rooms in the centre (4-6 students per room) is fully-equipped and very comfortable with a view of the 39-acre lake outside. Each room includes its own ensuite bathroom with a separate toilet and free WiFi. Full board is included.

  For 2-week stays or longer, there is an additional fee for Saturday night stays (see Prices & Dates tab.)

  IMPORTANT NOTE: bed linen is not included. Please bring your own sleeping bag or a set of single bed sheets and pillow case. If you are travelling by plane with restricted luggage, a set of sheets and pillow case is available at an extra cost (see "Prices & Dates" tab).

• Day Campers

  Families on holiday nearby can choose our Day Camper option, including French lessons (one fewer lesson per day than the Boarders option), lunch, excursions and sports or cultural activities. The programme runs 09.00-17.00 daily and all options are available. See Prices & Dates tab for more details on pricing and corresponding discount.

 

Dates 2024

Stays are scheduled from Sunday to Saturday (7 days / 6 nights) and are organized every week during the Easter holidays and in summer.

Classes are available on the following dates:

• English, Dutch, French at Easter in Bruges: The "Windsurfing" option is not available.

• English, Dutch, French in summer in Bruges: stay possible every week from June 30 to August 31, 2024. Possibility of combining different options (for example "culture" then "tennis" if the stay covers several weeks).

• All Saints' Day from October 29 to November 4.
